A Marble Set so Leydy can play one of her favorite cultural games

Catholic CharitiesLeydy arrived in the United States from Guatemala 2.5 years ago without her parents. She has worked hard since then to learn English, make friends, and get her education. Leydy plays trumpet in the school band and enjoys playing soccer during her free time. She loves her family, has a great sense of humor, and enjoys celebrating holidays by eating the yummy food her foster mom makes. Leydy is so fun to be around and is on her way to be a very successful young adult.
One of Leydy’s favorite games from her childhood in Guatemala is “canicas,” or marbles. Since she has come to the US, she hasn’t seen this game being played very much and she misses it! She would love to teach her foster family how to play so they can have marbles nights at home!
